ONLY ONE DAY TO GO BEFORE WE START REDEFINING THE ROLE OF THE FM AGAIN. SOMETHING NEW, AND I THINK IT’S USEFUL, IS COMING.

Qualcosa di nuovo, e credo di utile, sta per arrivare.
Dopo molte conversazioni, spunti e considerazioni, mi è parsa chiara e ben condivisa da molti colleghi la percezione che la figura del Facility Manager necessiti nel nostro contesto locale di una ridefinizione in chiave futura, per valorizzarne e comunicarne i contenuti in modo corretto, risaltandone la professionalità e la centralità del ruolo nella definizione ed applicazione delle strategie aziendali, in modo da ottenere gli stessi riscontri positivi di cui gode in altri Paesi, dove la disciplina si è affermata prima, come ad esempio Stati Uniti, UK ed ultimamente Emirati Arabi Uniti, dove ho avuto l’opportunità di svolgere questa professione e di cui posso raccontarvi la mia esperienza diretta.
Certo sarebbe una prova ardua per un individuo, ma non c’è nulla che non possa essere comunicato efficacemente da una community di professionisti.
Da questa considerazione ho sentito quindi la necessità di presentarmi, dando vita ad un luogo digitale, con lo scopo di condividere le nostre opinioni su questo tema.
Ho creato quindi un blog, il suo nome sarà FAR FROM BEING JUST FACILITY, dove oltre a presentarmi alla nostra comunità professionale, attraverso una serie di articoli, spunti, brevi post e documenti multimediali, mi piacerebbe sviluppare un dibattito che abbia come fine ultimo quello di mappare le attività in cui il Facility Manager può fare la differenza, un risultato raggiungibile solo attraverso un confronto costruttivo aperto a tutti.
Al grido di “start now, get perfect later” (Parti subito, diventa perfetto strada facendo) ho deciso di lanciare questo blog nel più breve tempo possibile, i contenuti come vedrete arriveranno molto presto, ma in modo condiviso, grazie al confronto che definirà i temi da discutere, come si potrebbe fare in una sorta di “brainstorming” improvvisato, senza dimenticare il WHY dell’iniziativa, ovvero ridisegnare il ruolo che ci compete secondo una prospettiva più moderna.
Quindi avanti tutta, spero che molti abbiano voglia di partecipare attivamente a questo confronto, che ci consentirà di provare a dare al ruolo una maggiore consapevolezza della sua importanza, comunicandola anche all’esterno in modo efficace.
Rimanete connessi, il blog andrà on line in tutta la sua semplicità venerdì 29 maggio 2020 con il primo articolo e le mie pagine di presentazione affinché ci si possa conoscere un po’ meglio.
Nel primo articolo, programmato nella data del lancio, parleremo della ragione per cui è importante partire dalla definizione del WHY, l’elemento che costituirà la nostra stella polare per tutto il lungo percorso che ci aspetta, perché non sarò io ad indicare la strada, ma dovremo trovarla insieme.

After many conversations, ideas and considerations, it seemed clear and well shared by many colleagues that the role of the Facility Manager needs to be redefined in our local context in a more modern key, to enhance and communicate its contents in a correct way, highlighting the professionalism and centrality of the role in the definition and implementation of corporate strategies, in order to obtain the same positive feedback that it enjoys in other countries, where the discipline has established itself before, such as the United States, the UK and lately the United Arab Emirates, where I had the opportunity to practice this profession and where I can tell you about my direct experience.
Of course it would be an ordeal for an individual, but there is nothing that cannot be communicated effectively by a professional community.
From this consideration I therefore felt the need to introduce myself, creating a digital place, with the aim of sharing our opinions on this issue.
I have therefore created a blog, its name will be FAR FROM BEING JUST FACILITY, where in addition to introducing myself to our professional community through a series of articles, ideas, short posts and multimedia documents, I would like to develop a debate that has as its ultimate goal to map the activities in which the Facility Manager can make a difference, a result that can only be achieved through a constructive discussion open to all.
At the cry of “start now, get perfect later” I decided to launch this blog as soon as possible, the content as you will see will arrive very soon, but in a shared way, thanks to the dialogue that will define the topics to be discussed, as could be done in a sort of improvised “brainstorming”, without forgetting the WHY of the initiative, which is to redesign the role that competes us according to a more modern perspective.
Therefore, I hope that many people will be willing to participate actively in this debate, which will allow us to try to give the role a greater awareness of its importance, communicating it to the outside world in an effective way.
