Con questo post, come promesso inauguriamo oggi la categoria “(RE)NEWS”, che poterete trovare nella pagina “CONTENTS” del blog “FAR FROM BEING JUST FM”.
Iniziamo subito con un tema di qualità e di fortissima attualità, il Digital Divide.
In data 30 Maggio, è stato pubblicato sul blog di Jump Facility (https://www.jumpfacility.com/blog) un articolo interessantissimo scritto da Elisabetta Bracci a cui ovviamente vanno tutti i crediti relativi ai contenuti.
Mi limito a segnalarvi il post ed a fornirvi sotto il link, in quanto lo ritengo di grande attualità e parla di un tema che non può lasciarci indifferenti, poiché ha manifestato tutta la sua gravità in questo periodo di distanziamento sociale necessario a seguito del COVID-19.
La definizione di “digital divide” così come riportata nel blog di Jump Facility (Jumpzine) è questa:
Il digital divide è il divario digitale esistente tra chi ha accesso effettivo alle tecnologie, in particolare personal computer e rete internet, e chi invece ne rimane escluso parzialmente o totalmente. La mancanza di accesso alle tecnologie causa una forte disparità nell’acquisizione di risorse e capacità necessarie a partecipare alla società dell’informazione poiché queste condizioni precludono quindi alle persone l’accesso a molti servizi pubblici, come le informazioni sanitarie essenziali, dato che i governi fanno sempre più affidamento su risorse online. Il digital divide è quindi indicatore di una emarginazione e discriminazione digitale e si usa per riferirsi sia a persone e gruppi sociali, sia a regioni e stati a livello globale.

Da parte nostra, nel rispetto del WHY che abbiamo condiviso e che ci chiama a “Ridisegnare il ruolo che ci compete, secondo una prospettiva più moderna, per migliorare la vita delle persone che per qualsiasi ragione dovessero venire in contatto con il risultato del nostro lavoro”, proporrei come Facility Mangers di trovare un modo, magari con l’intermediazione di qualche fondazione che gestisca anche gli aspetti finanziari della cessione dei beni, per gestire meglio le risorse informatiche che potrebbero non essere più attuali per le funzioni aziendali, ma che potrebbero essere donate a coloro che necessitano di una dotazione minima per accedere al web ed ai suoi contenuti.

On May 30th, a very interesting article written by Elisabetta Bracci was published on Jump Facility’s blog (https://www.jumpfacility.com/blog) to which all the credits related to the contents obviously go.
I just point out the post and provide you with the link below, because I think it is very topical and speaks of a topic that can not leave us indifferent, because it has shown all its seriousness in this period of social distancing necessary as a result of the COVID-19.

The digital divide is the digital divide between those who have effective access to technologies, in particular personal computers and the internet, and those who are partially or totally excluded. Lack of access to technologies leads to a wide disparity in the acquisition of the resources and skills needed to participate in the information society, as these conditions thus prevent people from accessing many public services, such as essential health information, as governments increasingly rely on online resources. For our side, in respect of the WHY that we have shared and that calls us to “redesign the role that we have to play, according to a more modern perspective, to improve the lives of people who for whatever reason should come into contact with the result of our work”, I would propose as Facility Mangers to find a way, perhaps through the intermediation of some foundation that also manages the financial aspects of the sale of assets, to better manage the IT resources that may no longer be current for business functions, but that could be donated to those who need a minimum equipment to access the web and its contents.
